A beautiful bespoke kitchen with grey painted wooden units, honed slate work surfaces and a Belfast sink. This eat-in kitchen has a large central island, lots of storage space and is stocked with all the basics. Designed for cooks, this kitchen comes fully equipped with a semi-professional Lacanche gas and electric double oven cooker (the same brand used by chef Raymond Blanc), a large American fridge freezer with ice and water dispenser, KitchenAid food processor and high quality pans. There are lots of elegant china tea sets and several pieces from The Leach Pottery in St Ives. Perfect for prepping delicious holiday meals with all the kitchen gadgets you'll ever need. The kitchen table by the window is the perfect place for having breakfast while looking out over the garden through the large bay window.

Rooms

Dining Room

 

A separate formal dining room across the hall from the kitchen, with a long central oval table that seats ten, overlooking the garden (and Myrtle). With fabulously funky 1960's Danish G-Plan furniture - table, chairs and a beautiful Teak sideboard. The sideboard is full of special glasses and cutlery for entertaining including a vintage cocktail shaker and exquisite china tea sets. Email us to find out about hiring a private chef for a meal or a large dinner party if you don't want to cook one night. Circular copper central pendants reflect all of you in the room as you dine. Glass candlesticks aplenty - this is the place for your long drawn-out evening meals, a place to linger and make the most of your time together.

Sitting Room

 

A large formal sitting room running the length of the first floor. The room has a large bay cushioned window seat with views over the gorgeous sub tropical Morrab Gardens and out to Newlyn and the sea. Furnished with a large sofa, comfortable arm chairs - including a 300-year old decorative armchair with a foot stall - and a luxurious cashmere rug. The room boasts a working Georgian marble fireplace topped with an 18th Century French mirror and evocative art by painter Amanda Slade. There is a writing desk for those who feel inspired and a dresser full of DVDs and music, including a collection of classic movies. The room also features a flat screen television set with BT Broadband, DVD player and bluetooth player. Perfect for a comfy evening in front of a roaring fire!

The French Bedroom

 

So called because of the hand-carved  weathered oak and linen upholstered double Darcy bed by Loaf, this bedroom is elegant and comfortable. Together with a beautifully renovated Victorian chest and a carved oak cupboard you have a Victorian armchair to curl up in by the decorative Georgian fireplace. The bedroom contains  luxurious soft linen sheets, a digital radio, two hanging rails with plenty of space for clothes and tea and coffee making facilities.  You have your own small but perfectly formed en-suite shower room with a rain shower. Decorated  in the relaxing hues of Farrow & Ball's 'Skimming Stone' and a large bay window with seating for enjoying the views.

The Master Bedroom Suite

 

An impressive suite with a mix of designer and antique furniture, this large and spacious bedroom is both glamorous and comfortable. The room boasts a stunning black lacquered 6' four poster bed from British designer John Reeves - bliss for those who like to stretch out. Decorated and furnished in various tones of black and cream which are echoed in the en suite bathroom with large walk in shower with rain and hand attachments,  plus  the  enviable double-ended bateau bath – perfect for soaking in after a long day's walk . There is a large space for hanging your clothes out of sight, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and digital radio with docking station. The fabulous hand-printed wallpaper in the bedroom is by Glasgow designers Timorous Beasties. The views from the large bay window where you might have your breakfast are wonderful - across sub tropical Morrab Gardens and out to sea and the fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole.

The Blue Bedroom

 

So-called because of the colour of the walls and the ocean theme, the room features pale grey-blue walls, polished wooden floors, period fireplace, cool Kartell Fly pendant, an antique-style cream metal double bedstead piled with cushions in Sanderson's Dandelion Clocks prints and a super-comfy mattress.  There is a small but perfectly formed en suite with a fantastic rain and hand attachment shower. Tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, digital radio are a wardrobe to store all your holiday clothes. From the bay window there are fabulous views over sub tropical Morrab Gardens, the sea and the fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole. A perfect way to start the day - with tea looking out to sea.

The Loft

 

Located at the top of the house, the loft is divided into a small study space on the landing and a separate room which can be set up as either a twin or double bedroom - or stay as a sitting room with the 2 super day beds from Loaf. The study has an antique chest of drawers, a Bose docking station and a bookcase with lots of interesting reads - including a shelf for children. The next room has two super Loaf day beds which can be used as sofas or converted to beds as well as an armchair in the window and a rocking chair. The Loft has an internet TV, DVD player, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities. There is a small shower room en suite bathroom off the main room sloping into the eaves so it might be a squeeze for tall people. Watch your head up here but don't miss the stunning views via windows across the sea to Newlyn and Mount's Bay and way beyond along the coast towards The Lizard.
